Residents and Medical Students
The Pembroke Regional Hospital is affiliated with the University of Ottawa (U of O) and we are pleased to have medical students/residents doing elective training in our hospital. To arrange an elective at PRH please contact the Medical Affairs Office.
We are also affiliated with Eastern Regional Medical Education Program (ERMEP) which is a joint collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine at U of O, and other affiliated rural and regional hospitals. Funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, ERMEP was created to provide medical students and residents with a wide variety of opportunities for hands-on clinical experiences.
We also have an active teaching center: Site of the University of Ottawa Rural Program in Family Medicine. Residents are permanently in the Pembroke Family Medicine Teaching Unit (located at Pembroke Regional Hospital, Tower C).
Every medical student and resident needs to register with the Medical Affairs Office before starting a rotation at the Pembroke Regional Hospital and provide a letter of Good Standing from your program director which can be faxed to (613) 633-4598.
