We are currently recruiting for a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator to join our Diabetes Education Team for a temporary full-time position. This role is responsible for providing adult Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes education programs and services for individuals and groups both in-house and in various outreach settings.
Baccalaureate in Food and Nutrition- New grads welcome
Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario, in good standing
Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) preferred
Experience counselling patients in diabetes clinic incorporating various behavior change models or techniques for chronic disease management preferred. Experience with insulin therapy; initiation and adjustment, and insulin pumps a definite asset.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
Comfortable and experienced with individual and group presentations, in person and virtually
Knowledge of and sensitivity to the impact of social, economic, environmental, and cultural issues in diabetes self-management
Bilingualism an asset
Experience with outreach, and community-based care an asset
