Civitan Club of Petawawa Donates $7,000 to Support PRH ACTT Equine Program

19/5/2026

The Pembroke Regional Hospital (PRH) Foundation is pleased to acknowledge a generous $7,000 donation from the Civitan Club of Petawawa in support of the PRH Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) Equine Program.

Greater Petawawa Civitan Club President Darlene Lambert and Past President Brian Miner presented the donation to Kristy Melcher, Concurrent Specialist for the Renfrew County Assertive Community Team (ACTT) and lead for the Equine program, alongside Roger Martin, Executive Director of the PRH Foundation.

The Civitan Club has been a dedicated supporter of this program, contributing more than $20,000 over the past few years - an incredible commitment that continues to make a meaningful impact.
Through Mental Health Services of Renfrew County, the program uses equine-assisted learning to support mental health and recovery through hands-on interaction with horses.

Sessions are delivered in partnership with Greener Pastures Inc., owned by Graham and Melissa Ridley - a local organization known for its impactful equine-assisted wellness programming, including support for veterans.

“We are incredibly grateful for community partnerships like this that continue to support mental health and recovery initiatives in Renfrew County,” said Roger Martin, Executive Director of the PRH Foundation.
