The Pembroke Regional Hospital requires one (1) Decision Support Analyst. This position is offered on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

The decision support analyst works within a team model, whose function is to provide financial and health records/utilization, analysis and strategic problem solving to clinical and non-clinical teams within the organization.

Major Responsibilities will include:

  • Performs information and business planning analyses to assist management with productivity reports, activity budgets, cost trends, and case costing.
  • Works collaboratively with program directors to improve scores and implement improvements to meet or exceed financial and quality improvement/lean targets
  • Wait times information management responsibilities include:
    • Participation in the collection, verification, preparation, and reporting (externally and internally) of wait time data and provide analysis on wait time reports.
    • Assumes the lead on data quality improvement initiatives by performing data quality related analysis, impact analysis, generating and extracting random samples for auditing.

  • Balanced Scorecard measures responsibilities include:
    • Responsible for collection and monitoring of corporate performance indicators and Hospital accountability agreement performance indicators.
    • Maintains and monitors the Balanced Scorecard indicators to ensure the integrity and quality of measures presented in the balanced scorecard, including key performance indicators and notify concerns and analyze findings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a four (4) year university degree in healthcare or business administration, statistics or mathematics, epidemiology, health information or health administration or related discipline
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in the hospital / health care environment

Skills and Abilities:

  • Possesses working knowledge of MOHLTC Reporting and Hospital business processes.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff including physicians, patient service leaders, Ministry Representatives and various other internal/external client groups
  • Sound organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines are essential
  • Self directed and action oriented

  • Demonstrated commitment to personal growth and development
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience working with healthcare-related databases, specifically manipulating data and performing statistical data analysis

Preferred:

  • Experience with health records data (CIHI), case costing and MIS/OHRS is an asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Access DB and PowerPoint, Report Generator and Crystal Report writer would be an asset
  • Experience with other analytical/statistical tools (SPSS or SAS) would be an asset
  • Bilingualism (French and English)
