"I write this testimonial as I sit preparing excitedly for Monday to come. I am a longtime on/off client of the Pembroke Recovery Outreach Program. I am a senior (sort of) that has suffered from recurrent depression and severe anxiety since I was a young teen. I now attend just about every program by choice and must commend the staff for their diligent creativity, individuality, thoughtful care and endless support. I consider the program 'my happy place'. I can visually leave my baggage (whatever that day I may carry) on the picnic tables outside and breathe easily as I enter the doors to a place away!. All day I get to smile, laugh, support others and sometimes seek support when things leap in. Sometimes spending an hour with these folks is Human Medicine. I always go home feeling better." Who is eligible to participate in ROP?
The program is open to individuals who are 16 years of age and older who are living with a mental illness.
Is there a cost to participate in ROP?
No, ROP is free to attend. There is, however, a cost for some of the activities that take place. Also, because some activities are limited in terms of participation numbers, we recommend advance sign-up for those.
Do you have to commit to attending ROP?
No, there is no commitment required. However, if you sign up to attend an event, please let the ROP staff know if you are no longer able to attend.
What are the rules of ROP?
Please review our Social Contract.
If I attend the Pembroke location of ROP, can I also attend the Renfrew or Arnprior program on a different day?
Yes. Once registered in ROP, you can attend any of the outreach programs in the county. All you have to do is notify the ROP staff and let them know the dates and locations you would like to attend.
What if I don't have transportation to get to ROP?
If you are on ODSP, transportation can be arranged for ROP and activities. ROP staff can assist with this.
